“Be sure to come home before twilight after a hard day in the hills or glens or the call of the foxes and the roar of the stags through the setting sun may make you feel the thrill of the clans marching through the glens to battle” .

There is all varieties of fishing from sea angling to loch fishing - boat permits and tuition are available. Those wishing to take it easier can spend the day on a variety of cruises taking in breathtaking scenes. You can also arrange sea kayaking trips.(See the links section)

Those who want to try their skills off road can find plenty of excitement of the Clachtoll / Stoer peat roads and surrounding countryside. One of the main events of the year is the Assynt Highland Games which are held on the second Friday every August. These are the culmination of Games Week during which a large array of events from modern music to traditional ceilidhs take place. Traditionally, the Assynt diaspora return for this, stories are told and drink is taken. Assynt also boasts an all abilities foot path (below) with disabled angling facilities which include specially adapted boats on two wonderful lochs
in breath-taking scenery, a facility unavailable anywhere else in Scotland. The site at Clachtoll on Scotland's west coast is situated next to the perfect bay for watersports and people with boats will find themselves with likeminded enthusiasts.

Close to the Clachtoll site there are all grades of climbing or walking with lots to explore, or just sit and relax in complete tranquillity on our stress free beach.
